Berlin Gallery, Porto Tidbits

In today's issue: the gallery is coming soon; please take care of hotel bookings; additional questions in registration forms.

From the 29.921 shots that 📸 Simas Bernotas, the Summit's photographer, took in Berlin, he has selected 1.833 – and in about a week's time, we should be ready to present the public gallery of Summit XI for your viewing pleasure.

Our aim with these galleries is to show the conference "as is" – with the focus more on what's happening behind the stage and around the venue rather than the classic microphone-in-hand kind of coverage (though there will be shots from all the sessions included, most certainly).

One of the good things about working with Simas for over a decade, is that he's blending into the environment so well that he is able to catch the backrooms deals in the making.

No matter where the negotiations are being carried out.

Though mostly we've got serious business on the record.

After all, it's a legal conference...

With serious topics on the agenda.

Even though we cannot always ignore the politics...

Or the emails from the back office...

But enough with these jokes.

Or maybe not?

Anyways, please give us one more week to line up the shots that show your emotions...

And we can all revisit Berlin in its full glory.

Porto: Travel

Aside from ☮️ peace being better than war anywhere, everywhere, and at all times, this week's peace deal between US and Iran (as long as it holds!) is also good for Summit On Tour IV: it's still almost 4 months away from now, so that the jet fuel prices have a fair chance to get back to normal (at least in countries where corporate monopolies don't call the shots).

As we approach 150 registrations for the event, I urge you all to take care of the hotel bookings. October 5, the Monday before the conference starts, is a holiday in 🇵🇹 Portugal, called Implantação da República Portuguesa, which may affect the availability of the hotels due to people traveling for the long weekend.

If you're committed to attending On Tour IV, please also get committed to emailing Alma for the special rates at Timbre Virtudes and Neya Porto before you need to pay more for the other options around the venue.

Porto: Music

The registrations forms for On Tour IV and Summit XII now include a question about music instruments you may play: we're open to special requests, and look forward to more experiments in this area.

Perhaps you'd like to see a ToneX pedal on stage. Or even an electric guitar in addition to the acoustic Taylor that we had in Berlin – we're all ears.

Porto: Birthdays

There is at least one attendee in the community, whose 🎂 birthday falls on the Porto days – and we're happy that we know ahead, so that we can bring a few candles. If you know someone else who will mark the date between October 5 and October 8, please notify Alma or me!

Porto: Kids

Looking at the plans for Summit XII in 2027, there's going to be a 🚗 🚙 🚗 mini-caravan driving down south to Sintra after the conference, as at least 3 attendees will bring their partners and kids to Porto with them.

However, even before 2027, we're looking at a few kids aged 6 to 12, who will attend On Tour IV this October. If you plan to bring children in this age group this autumn, too – hit me up: we can synchronize some of the activities, as well as the required number of controllers for 🎮 Nintendo Switch 2 (the courtyard of Neya Porto looks like the safest bet for playing Minecraft all together; each player requires both Joy-Cons).

Super Passes 2027

With a growing number of photos from people who are happily using their Super Pass KPM cups from Berlin, we decided to check your appetite for a KPM x Summit Cup Edition 2027: the registration form for Summit XII now offers to choose either a hoodie (neon yellow next year) or a cup.

If we get 50+ attendees who opt for a cup, we have a good chance of making one.

Food Allergies

Finally, one more change in the registration forms for both upcoming events is that we now specifically ask about lactose intolerance (because more than few people voiced this in Berlin, and it's easy to handle if we know ahead) and being alleging to seafood (because in Porto, we are bound to have soups and mains that are built on seafood stock; we need to know how many alternatives we should design for those who won't be having those).

Un abbraccio grandissimo,
and until next week – when the gallery goes live.
